I'm in the mood for....purses?

Yesterday I had my second and third earthquakes for the year. Quite a groovy ride, let me tell you. It wasn’t as big as the one in the UK in February but it was enough to wake me up (both in the morning and afternoon).

Last night and today I went on a bit of a jewelry jag. I actually took pictures of the 4 necklaces and 2 watches but they all came out pretty badly so I’ll have to try to retake them.

I was looking up some information for someone the other day on Lacis and got caught in the tangled web they weave. I got started looking at the purse frames and before I knew it I had ordered several. Once I got them, I fell in love with them again. These pictures show them as gold. In reality they are silver, silver.

How cool is this one? Very art deco, I’d say.

I’ve already got a plan for this one and just need to get the beads strung to get it started.

Here are a couple of views of 3 handles. The round one was just like one I saw last year at Stitches Midwest. That one was about $45, just the handle alone. This one was a fraction of that and is so intriguing to me. You can see in one view how it opens and in the other what it looks like closed. I’ve been looking for some examples of how they would have been used originally but haven’t had much luck so far. I’ll have to go online and see what I can find.

The wooden handles are ones that I made thinking I would use them with the linen purse I made last weekend. I ended up not liking them with that but I think they’ll be cute with another style.

They’ve got me jazzed to start on some new bags, although there are a couple of things I need to get finished first. I’ve got the handles in the back of my mind as I mull over what I want to hang on them.
